2026 COACHING STAFF

HEAD COACH - SCOTTY MURRAY

Originally from Australia’s Sunshine Coast, Murray played academy football in England before moving to the U.S., where he earned multiple honors at the NAIA level. After a professional stint with Sunshine Coast Fire in Australia, he returned to the U.S. to begin coaching while completing a master’s degree in Business and Data Analytics at Faulkner University. There, he served as Director of Goalkeeping, helped lead the JV team to a conference title, and coached an ECNL academy team to a standout season and state championship appearance.

In 2024, Murray joined West Texas FC as an assistant coach, helping the team win conference and playoff championships and reach the South Region Final. He became head coach in 2025 while also serving as first assistant coach at NCAA Division I Central Connecticut State University. Murray holds a USSF National C Licence, is pursuing his B Licence, and remains committed to growing soccer in West Texas and giving back to the community.

ASSISTANT COACH - ELI BROWN

Assistant Coach Eli Brown returns to West Texas FC for his second season with the club after playing an important role in the team’s successful 2025 campaign. A dedicated coach with experience at both the collegiate and pre-professional levels, Brown brings strong leadership, professionalism, and a passion for player development to the West Texas FC staff.

Brown currently serves as an assistant coach at Felician University, an NCAA Division II program in New Jersey, where he continues to develop his coaching experience at a highly competitive level. Holding a USSF B License, he is recognized for his tactical knowledge, commitment to developing players, and ability to build strong relationships within a team environment.

Rejoining Head Coach Scotty for the 2026 season, Brown will help lead West Texas FC as the club looks to defend its 2025 USL2 Regular Season Championship and continue building a winning culture in Midland.
